THE People’s Alliance Party has been told students from the Solomon Islands National University have sent out appeal letters to Members of Parliament to help meet their tuition fees and allowances.
Party’s Media Officer, George Atkin reports the news was relayed to the weekly meeting of the PAP National Executive in Honiara.
The meeting was also told the students have been going without food because their meal allowances have still to be released.
The People’s Alliance Party is calling on the Central Bank of Solomon Islands to release some of the state funds which are in millions so the students’ allowances can be paid.
The party understands the CBSI needs authorization before it can release the money.
