PARENTS have been busy last week preparing their children for the 2025 academic year.
In Honiara, parents were seen shopping for their children’s return to school.
Last weekend, the Solomon Star visited one of the busiest shops in Honiara, Talon, which was flooded with parents who led their children to purchase school uniforms, bags and stationaries.
To avoid the problem of overcrowding, security officers had to control the number of shoppers entering at one time.
Parents made haste to purchase their children’s school needs and at the same time get them registered for the 2025 academic year, which begins today as advised by the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development (MEHRD).
Uniforms are a compulsory item for students to have because due to the imposition of uniform policies by all schools.
With the strict uniform policies, parents see it necessary to purchase at least two pairs of uniform per child.
Last week, the MEHRD released all the remaining 2024 school exam results. The first result to be released was that of Grade 6.
