STUDENTS of Lau/ Mbaelelea constituency have called on their Parliamentarian Augustine Auga to focus in education as his top priority this year.
The concerned students made the call as they are in need of the MP’s financial assistance leading up to the start of another academic year.
A Solomon Islands National University (SINU) student Andrew Foukona and a spokesperson for the concerned students told the Solomon Star that they would like to meet the MP in person so that their call is urgently considered.
“We would like to meet Mr Auga now as the academic year is set to begin soon.
“Registrations for us tertiary students has already commenced but we couldn’t join the registration as we need financial assurance and support coming from the MP first before proceeding through the required steps,” Foukona said.
He stated that it was almost a month now and they have not seen any sign of their MP at his home or the Ministry of Agriculture & Livestock (MAL) premises.
Foukona said as concerned students of Lau / Mbaelelea Constituency the need for Auga’s presence is to further explain how he will deal with educational matters this New Year.
He stated that the only wish that they have now is for the MP to consider the students plea.
“We would like to see the MP accepting our demand and help sponsor us this year,” the spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, Mr Foukona called on their respected MP to take into account what their needs are .
