SOLOMON Islands students studying in Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu institutions are urging the National Government through the Ministry of Finance to quickly release their allowances.
Those at the Divine Word University in Madang said the second semester has commenced but they are yet to receive allowances.
“It is important we received our allowances on time to help us commence this second semester equipped,” the students said.
They said those at UNITEC, UNPNG, Goroka and others under the SIG sponsorship are also waiting.
It is understood that, the allowances for Solomon Island students studying in Papua New Guinea have already been allocated but are waiting approval from the Ministry of Finance and Treasury.
