MALAITA province has confirmed its participation in the 2014 Matsons inter-island rugby tournament by preparing two teams.
In a statement on Tuesday Gregory Ofia on behalf of the team management said Subi and Malaita Outter Islands (MOI) are taking part in the tournament.
“Malaita province will field two teams in the Matsons inter-islands rugby tournament 2014.”
A team list for both teams have been released and the players are being asked to attend training each day at the Honiara High School grounds.
“Those included plus others whose names are not included are asked to attend training everyday at 4.30pm. Venue will be at Honiara High School grounds.”
Mr Ofia also appealed to all Malaitans to support the team in the quest to participate in this year’s competition. A number of fundraising activities have been planned for the team.
“To all Malaitans in and around Honiara. Please do listen out for some upcoming fundraisers to be organized in aid of these two teams.”
