(RSIPF/SolStar) OFFICERS of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Kirakira, are investigating the sudden death of a man in his 50’s after his body was found beside a dwelling house in the Makira-Ulawa Provincial Capital on Tuesday last week.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Makira-Ulawa Province, Superintendent Peter Sitai said it was alleged that the male person in his 50’s was initially found lying on the ground beside a dwelling house.
He said the matter was immediately reported to the Kirakira police upon discovery.
“The deceased was rushed to Kirakira Hospital but was later pronounced dead by the medical authorities there,” Superintendent Sitai added.
Superintendent Sitai said police are conducting an inquiry into the cause of the death, adding that police are yet to arrest anyone in relation to the death.
He said an initial medical report obtained and forms part of the investigation.
Police in Kirakira are appealing to relatives of the deceased to remain calm whilst investigation into the matter is in progress.
They expressed condolence to his immediate family members ‘during this dark moment for the loss of their loved one.’
Police in Kirakira, meanwhile, appeal to members of the public in and around Kirakira who may have any information about the incident to assist police.
“Probing into such crimes is not an easy task therefore it requires understanding and cooperation of everyone,” Superintendent Sitai said.
