The Malaita Premier Daniel Suidani says all Malaitans are free to come to him to discuss any issues affecting Malaitans.
Premier Suidani was responding to accusations by Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare claiming the Malaita Premier is harboring criminals at his residence in Auki.
The Premier said there is no court decision proving Malaitans that visited him at his residence for the purpose of development discussion as criminals.
He said for the Prime Minister of the country to label Malaitans who visited him at his residence as criminals is uncalled for.
He said not all Malaitans are criminals.
The premier said the PM’s statement is only true for Malaitans who served prison terms but those who visited him for discussion purposes are law abiding citizens and not criminals.
The Premier said the PM’s disrespectful comments targeting him and his good people of Malaita labeling them as criminals is growing day by day and said by the looks of things the PM is trying his best to put the criminal tag on Malaita as a whole.
The premier said as the Malaita leader of the day, it is a good thing that Malaitans are coming to him to discuss issues affecting Malaita and the way forward to achieve development and move the province forward.
With that, the Premier warned the PM not to use the criminal tag on Malaitans and their leaders.
