The Malaita Provincial Premier Daniel Suidani has called on the 33 Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs) to make their way to Auki to attend the Full Assembly budget meeting next week.
Speaking to Solomon Star Auki, Premier Suidani said the budget meeting is scheduled for 22 November which is Monday next week.
“All MPAs including executive and non-executive are expected to arrive in Auki this weekend before the meeting starts on Monday,” he said.
Premier Suidani issued the call following rumors that some MPAs are planning to boycott the meeting on purpose to fail the budget meeting.
The Malaita Premier has made it clear that MPAs are mandated by their respective wards to attend assembly meetings.
He added he did not see any reasons why any MPA should boycott the important meeting.
“The meeting is in the best interest of Malaita Province and so all MPAs should make it to the meeting without any excuses,” he said.
