THE Malaita Provincial Premier, Daniel Suidani has congratulated Ward Development Committee (WDC) members who successfully completed a three-day workshop in Auki, last week.
International Republican Institute (IRI) is responsible for facilitating the workshop for WDC members in Wards; 1, 2, 3, and 30.
Speaking during the certificate presentation at the Auki Lodge last Friday afternoon, Premier Suidani congratulated the participants for successfully attending the workshop.
He also urged them to put the knowledge gained during the workshop into practice.
Premier Suidani also thanked IRI Local Program Officer, Melinda Kii and USAID for supporting the significant workshop which aims at building the capacity of WDC members.
The Premier said the workshop is an important one and he urged IRI to reach out to other Wards in Malaita with the same training. This is to boost their capacity on how to carry out their roles in a meaningful and transparent way.
He said all 33 Wards in Malaita need such training.
Mr Suidani also encourages IRI and USAID to continue to support the capacity training as WDC members in Malaita are now benefiting greatly from the training.
