FORMER premier of Malaita Province Daniel Suidani has congratulated his successor, the newly elected premier of Malaita Province Martin Fini following his victory today.
Speaking to Solomon Star Auki after the declaration of the new premier, Mr Suidani said he wishes Premier Fini and his government all the best in leading the province forward.
He said he also hoped to see the new government continue with projects the outgoing MARA Government supported which is now making steady progress in the province.
“I, on behalf of the outgoing MARA Government wish to congratulate our new premier Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) for Ward Three Martin Fini and his new government,” Mr Suidani said.
“The future of our beloved province is in your hands so please look after it well.
“One more thing that I want this new government to do is to support progressing projects on the ground. Its future is in your hands.
“Please continue to support the USAID SCALE Project on the ground which continues to make positive progress for the province and our people.”
He said the MARA Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Fisheries to make way for the current progress of the Bina Harbour Project.
He said this is one key project which he hoped the new Fini Government will continue to support.
The MARA Government in its term also signed other MOUs with the national government through its ministries like agriculture and tourism.
“It will be nice to see the new government continue to implement projects that will come under the signed MOUs,” Mr Suidani said.
With that, the outgoing premier calls on the Malaita public to support the new premier and his government moving forward.
