MALAITA Premier, Daniel Suidani, has accused veteran journalist, Alfred Sasako, as a journalist with an agenda against the MARA government.
Speaking to Solomon Star Auki, Premier Suidani said since the emergence of the MARA government in 2019, Mr Sasako has published all sorts of ‘rubbish’ aimed at tannishing the MARA government in the mainstream media.
The Malaita Premier said Mr Sasako’s agenda against the MARA government is very clear ‘from the start to this day’ and that is to get rid of MARA from power.
“This so-called veteran journalist always writes misleading information against the MARA government.
“Not only that, but he even goes on social media, using degrading words against the MARA government.
The Premier said Mr Sasako even shamelessly went on social media and attacked the MARA government with this comment, “Malaita doesn’t need MARA now or ever. It’s group that consists of blind leading the blind.”
The Malaita Premier said the MARA government is not blind and the people of Malaita are not blind and that if Sasako thinks Malaita does not need MARA, then he is blind.
He said he is well aware of the role that Sasako played in the first motion of no confidence against MARA in 2020, adding that it is ridiculous that this journalist thinks he can hide with his old dirty tricks.
Premier Suidani added this is not at all a new thing for Mr Sasako to attack the MARA government with degrading and false accusations.
“Sasako is famous for constant publication of unverified and one-sided information about the MARA government and the USAID SCALE Project in Malaita,” he further added.
The Premier said such attitude does not speak well of him as a veteran journalist.
He said Sasako is the only journalist that never seeks the MARA side of the story before publication for the past four years and he is still doing so today.
With that, the Premier said MARA government does not need opinion from a journalist like Mr Sasako.
