THE Malaita Provincial Premier Daniel Suidani yesterday spoke highly of the leader of the Opposition, Hon Mathew Wale for speaking up for the people in matters of national interest.
In his welcome remarks to welcome the Opposition leader at the Auki Central Market yesterday morning, Premier Suidani said that Mr Wale is a true leader who continues to speak on issues of national interest that affects the people.
The Premier said the Opposition leader is the leader of the moment where he thanked the people of Aoke Langa Langa electorate for putting him in power as their Parliament representative.
He said Mr Wale has done a tremendous job as the Opposition leader.
“This is the kind of strong leader and leadership that the people of Malaita are wishing for. This is the type of leader that people wanted to see representing them in parliament,” Suidani added.
The Opposition leader is currently visiting the Aoke Langa Langa constituency to get the views of his people on the plan by the Sogavare-led DCGA government to extend the life of the current parliament from four to five years.
The MP clearly stated yesterday that he is against the extension of the life of parliament, and supported that the national general elections should take place in 2023.
