THE former Malaita Province Premier, Daniel Suidani, is expected to speak at the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues in which will be held in New York this month, it was revealed.
Speaking exclusively to Solomon Star Auki from Hawaii, the MARA Political Advisor, Celsius Talifilu, who is accompanying the former Premier to this event confirmed this, correcting all the misleading information published about the former Premier’s trip to the United States.
Mr Suidani was invited by Nia Tero to attend and speak at the event which will be held from 16 April to 23 April in New York city.
Currently, the former Malaita Premier is in Hawaii after spending over a month in Fiji, applying for a US visa to attend the event.
The former Malaita Premier’s first visa application to visit US was denied. However, his second visa application was accepted thus allowing him to make the historical trip to the US to speak at the event.
This is not the first time that Nia Tero invited Mr Suidani to speak at such an event as Suidani and his advisor Talifilu had previously visited Europe on a similar invitation.
Mr Suidani and Mr Talifilu are expected to fly over to New York this Saturday just in time for the eight-day United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues event.
