A FORMER politician and intending candidate says he can make a better prime minister.
Jackson Sunaone was responding to the current media debate as to who should be the next prime minister.
“All I can say is I can make a better prime minister,” Mr Sunaone, brother of Solomon Mamaloni, one of the country’s former prime ministers, said.
He said in the past weeks, there was media debate after Peter Forau claimed Dr Jimmy Rodgers would make the best prime minister.
“Forau’s statements have never been received well by those of us who have been in the political circle. It only makes us felt as though we are not good enough,” Mr Sunaone said.
“I felt that Dr Rogers and Forau were intending candidates in their various constituencies and I challenge them that I can make a better prime minister”.
“I am more equipped and well prepared for that top post if it falls upon my shoulders; that is the reason why I never stop contesting the national elections”.
Mr Sunaone was a former West Makira MP following his brother’s death.
He contested the last three elections and could only make it to the second position.
Prior to that, he served five terms in the Makira-Ulawa Provincial Assembly.
He says he’ll make another attempt again in the upcoming elections against caretaker education minister Dick Ha’amori.
