The second murder suspect in connection to the LGZ shop double murder over the Easter will be transferred over to Honiara from Auki soon.
The suspect who is being identified as Raymond Keota is still being detained at the Auki police custody since Sunday night.
This was confirmed by the Auki police operational commander Timothy Apaesi in an interview on Monday.
He told the Solomon Star office in Auki that the second most wanted suspect will be transferred to Honiara any time this week.
“The suspect is still being detained at the Auki police custody while waiting to be transferred to Honiara.”
However, Mr. Apaesi could not confirm the actual traveling date as its still unknown at this stage.
The second murder suspect was detained following his successful arrest in the early hours of Sunday morning at Faurere village in Lau/Mbaelelea.
Mr. Apaesi said, the second suspect apprehended after the surprise arrest on Sunday morning.
He was kept at the Malu’u police custody the entire Sunday until he was whisked to Auki under the cover of night late Sunday.
“The suspect was transported down to Auki on Sunday night under the guidance of the arresting team, where they arrived in Auki at around 10pm in the night.”
According to an eyewitness, the suspect on arrival was unable to walk properly because of what is believed to be the force used to arrest him after jumping out from a window in an attempt to escape police arrest.
It was revealed the suspect sustained some injuries during the process of his arrest.
The other suspect Jimson Goufi is currently under police custody in Rove, Honiara.
Both men were arrested by police on separate dates in separate villages with an approximately a week apart in North East Malaita.
