A SWELL warning was issued yesterday afternoon to people living on low lying islands off Malaita, as well as those in northern Choiseul, Isabel, Makira, and Temotu.
The Weather office issued the warning in light of current weather conditions.
“There is a possibility of coastal inundation over low lying islands and atolls,” the warning advice stated.
“Marines and people living on low lying islands and coasts, especially Ontong Java Atolls, Dai, Ramos, and Sikaiana should take precautionary measures as these swells can post threats to lives and properties,” the advice reads.
People living on these islands are advised to listen to the national broadcaster.
The warning came a week after the Weather office issued heavy raining warnings to the country.
Solomon Islands is currently in its wet season.
