THE Solomon Islands Swimming Federation (SISF) is grateful for a successful year having achieved a good number of successful programs despite the challenges faced by Covid 19 early in the year.
SISF has successfully hosted their National Swimming Championship, conducted swimming technical officials certification training, and coaching certification clinic supporting the athletes.
SISF has reached Western Province with their Swimming program and have identified their first provincial potential swimmers.
These selected athletes competed in a national swimming championship for the selection of a trial squad for the PG2023.
One of the top swimming athletes, Edgar Richardson has also been making huge progress as part of his preparation for next year’s Games and regional and international swimming competitions.
Recently Richardson clocked his new Personal Best timing in the World Swimming Championship in Abu Dubai.
As for the SISF officials, Coach Stance Sanga made history by being the first Solomon Islander to officiate in the World Swimming Championship.
All this could not have been made possible without the support of its partners and organizations.
The federation acknowledged the support from organizations and individuals in making this year one of the most successful years of Swimming sport development in the country.
“Before this year ends the Solomon Islands Swimming Federation (SISF) wants to acknowledge all who made this year a successful year.
“Some important people, our athletes, coaches, officials partners and stakeholders has made this year a most remarkable year.
“Through the hard and easy times, we stick together and hustle.
“Let’s go team never give up, 2023 here we come,” according to a statement from SISF.
Swimming like some other sports federations lack proper training venues.
This however does not deter their determination to continue to strive for the best preparations for the 2023 Pacific Games.
