THE Solomon Islands Swimming Federation (SISF) will soon announce its training squad as part of their preparation for the 2023 Pacific Games.
Coach Stance Sanga revealed the squad will be selected from the current group of swimmers that are training at the Marine School beach.
“We will select potential young swimmers to form the squad from the current group of swimmers.
“Selected swimmers will undergo the High Performance training program of the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sports (SINIS),” he said.
The SISF is one of the federations that continue their trainings despite no proper training facilities or venues.
They are also one of the few sports that have not won a medal for the country at the Pacific Games.
Coach Sanga believed the High Performance Program will help prepare the swimmers to compete and hopefully win medals at the Pacific Games 2023.
Currently there are 20 swimmers undergoing the weekly training at the Marine School beach, Ranadi.
