Head of the Solomon Islands Taekwondo team that went to Fiji late last month has thanked the DCC government and National Olympic Committee of Solomon Islands (NOSCI) for making their trip possible.
John Alick said his executive were very honoured and would like to thank the DCCG government and NOCSI for their great support.
“The SI taekwondo executive, the officials and athletes who attended 7th Oceania championship in Suva, Fiji from 25th to 27th November would like to acknowledge the SI Government and National Olympic Committee of SI for the funding assistance enabling the officials to attend the championships and OTU meeting,’’ he said.
Alick also thanked the Honiara City Council (HCC) for their support towards Taekwondo in the country.
“We would also like to thank the Honiara City Council for availing their venue for our home based athlete’s training/ preparation,’’ he said.
Meanwhile, Katy Soapi and her ten and seven years old sons, Leo and Finn represented Solomon Islands in the 7th Oceania Taekwondo championship in Fiji.
They won three medals – a gold and two silver.
