The only Solomon Islands national female taekwondo fighter Emily Magaret Kwaetolo will be the first to fight today when the taekwondo championship kicks off today in the IV Pacific Games.
Kwaetolo will face New Zealand in the under 68kg today to open the championship for Solomon Islands taekwondo team.
In an interview with this paper on Wednesday Kwaetolo said, she is confident ahead of her match today.
She said, she will do to the best of her ability representing her country in the Pacific Games.
Out of the nine taekwondo fighters who represents the country in the IV Pacific Games, Kwaetolo is the only female fighter.
The other eight male fighters will be competing on day two of the competition tomorrow.
The mood in Solomon Islands national taekwondo camp is high ahead of the tournament where they promise to throw everything at their opponents.
Power house Australia and New Zealand is also taking part in the taekwondo tournament for the first time.
