EIGHT medical specialists including two dentists from Taiwan yesterday visited Palm Drive School, east Honiara.
The dentists checked on students teeth and gave awareness on keeping their teeth healthy.
The team comprised of two dentists, two medical doctors, one oral therapist and three nurses.
Dr Eugene Chang and Sophie Wang from the Taiwanese Health Center accompanied the visiting medical specialists.
The team is expected to visit schools and communities including Visale in West Guadalcanal and the Good Samaritan hospital on east Guadalcanal.
Visiting medical specialist, Eddy Lin said they were so grateful to be here and shared their knowledge in their areas of speciality.
He said as a friend of Taiwan, visiting a friend country like Solomon Islands to help assist in terms of health is a great experience.
“More so it is through such biding friendship through help of sorts that signifies this,” he added.
Palm Drive headmistress Roselee Liligeto thanked the Taiwanese medical specialist for considering their school as one of those spots to visit and share their specialities.
She said the importance of urging young students to keep their teeth clean and healthy is fundamental towards bringing up children through education.
“Healthy child gives a healthy education,” she said.
Ms Liligeto thanked the medical team for their time and effort to visit their school.
