Constituents within Hograno/Havulei/Kia, Isabel province have been urged to take good care of community and individual projects as investments to help drive rural development.
And not to forget the projects primary goal is to improve rural livelihood through the project’s main purpose.
Member of Parliament for Hograno/Havulei/Kia constituency and Leader of Opposition, Jeremiah Manele told his constituents when handing over some of the constituency projects over the weekend.
He said projects that are given to you and the communities are yours to keep and maintain, make good use to help improve and assistance in whatever means for rural development.
“Rural development needs catalyst to drive it forward, and I hope the truck and tractor will be that catalyst to slowly but gradually build small businesses, taking goods to market and other means.
“Ensure that at least there is little income generated from the truck to help in maintaining the projects going,” urged Manele.
He said the water tanks are very important for health and hygiene which sure will provide clean drinking water at your door steps.
Other than that, it will truly help in ease your struggles over the years of hardship fetching water from far streams and rivers, said Manele.
Manele added the housing scheme with the Lucas sawmill will help those who are yet to complete their houses under this project.
“This housing scheme project including other projects must be completed before the end of this year,” he urged.
He said whilst criticism might be a hindrances, there is no barrier in everyone working together as constituents to build the constituency.
“Thus the projects are intended for you my people of Hograno and I hope you appreciate them in our strive to improve rural livelihood through whatever small or big.
“Your ideas in contributing towards whatever rural development that is genuine will greatly supported by the constituency office.
“Continue to work hard and improve the better of our living at the rural communities.”
