CLOSING submissions into the case of a top female police officer accused of stealing $100,000 belonging to her husband’s tribe will be made in court on June 24.
This followed the completion of the trial on Wednesday in the Honiara Magistrates’ Court.
Florence Taro stood tried in the hearing for two counts of larceny in a dwelling house before Principal Magistrate Edwin Saramo.
Prosecution has called four witnesses including the accused’s husband.
Florence defended herself during the trial and also called a witness.
Prosecution alleged she stole money belonging to her husband’s tribe, (Irawaru tribe) from Makira.
She allegedly stole the money on two occasions in 2011.
On the first occasion, she allegedly stole $20,000 and on the second, she took $80,000.
It was alleged that her husband was entrusted by his tribe to look after their money when the money were stolen.
