AN induction training for block 4 course materials of the certificate in teaching programme for the Teachers in Training (TITs) of Northern and Eastern Regions of Malaita Province is currently underway in Auki, Malaita Province.
This training is a continuation after the two regions have completed the other 3 blocks of the Certificate in Teaching Programme earlier from 2011.
Speaking in the official opening ceremony of the training yesterday, the coordinator of the Certificate in Teaching Programme (CTP) through the Distance and Flexible Learning mode Maevalyn Pitanoe said, “we have reached the final stage of the training.”
She said, the students who are taking this training should be graduating in November or December 2015 if they have successfully completed all the requirements of the programme.
She further pointed out in her speech that “as we begin this programme let us be reminded of the three key points that initiated the birth of this programme which includes access, quality and management”.
In response, the Provincial Teacher Training Development officer (PTTDO) of the Malaita Education Authority Jackson Rahe thanked the coordinator and the facilitators of the programme from the Solomon Islands National University (SINU) for making it possible for their teachers to take the training this week.
The Malaita Education Authority PTTDO finally said they now received the much needed training they have been crying and waiting for.
The training ends Friday this week.
