TEAM Archery is undergoing a five-day training at the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sports (SINIS) as part of its ongoing preparations for the 17th Pacific Games this month.
Australian Rogue Archery Head Coach Jarryd Greitschus is back at SINIS, conducting the training.
“What we are doing now is focusing more on competition tactics. Some of these athletes have done competitions before and some of them have never done international tournaments. So, we need to make sure everyone understands the rules, understands the competition formats and understands how to compete in the different scenarios,” said Greitschus.
“In the Pacific Games, we will have individual and team events and also Para events. So, this week we are going to practice all of these scenarios, both ranking, individual, elimination and team elimination matches,” he added.
Mr Greitschus said it was really cool to see after a couple of months how far the athletes have come along in teams of their preparation.
He said he is really impressed to see how much they have improved with their techniques structure from the first time he came and trained them.
