A Renbel football fanatic Jim Sevesi has questioned why the Sports Authority in Renbel Province could not shed something officially about Eugene Tekobi’s recent inclusion in the national football team.
Mr Sevesi told Sunday Star Sports the achievement of Renbell____s very own Tekobi is a big thing in the province’s social sector, which sport is part of.
“A significant achievement Renbel Sports Authority might have not realised was the selection of Eugene Tekobi to join the national soccer squad following the recent Solomon Cup.
“Despite being a rugby union dominant province with less regard for soccer and where many Rennblese and Bellonese could easily find themselves signed up for duties in rugby and other sports, Tekobi____s selection is something to be noted and be proud of.
“Tekobi received the highest merit for being the first in Renbel to have been eyed by a professional coach to join the Solomon Islands national soccer team,” the Renbel man said.
As a supporter of football, Mr Sevesi urged the lad from Tigoa Kagua in West Rennell to stick to football, work hard and stay out of negative activities.
Tekobi grabbed his first international cap in the international friendly against Vanuatu last Friday.
