OUR Telekom company says the communication network failure affecting the mobile phone service over the weekend was caused by power-cuts experienced in the capital, Honiara.
Our Telekom public relation officer Lawrence Nodua said this after many customers criticized the company for the problem.
Members have raised their concern through the social network Forum Solomon Islands international (FSII) demanding the company explanations.
Customers from Auki also raised the same concern saying, it is hard to make a call to family members around the country and the world at large.
However, Nodua said that the problem was due to cards to run the net work being down due to continuous power disruptions.
“Due to the power-cuts that was experienced during the past weeks the cards used to run the networks were affected.
“However, we have already fixed that on Tuesday after receiving the cards from overseas.”
He said that they have apologized for the net work error experienced since the weekend until yesterday.
A customer said, the company should have explained this to the customers and the public when it happened rather than waiting for this long.
