BETHEL community in East Fataleka, Malaita Province, is the latest community to “feel the breeze” after Our Telekom launched its 11th mobile phone tower, Monday.
Our Telekom’s security officer at Bethel George Geo said that the day was fun-filled as people enjoyed themselves.
There were sports activities organised by Our Telekom for the communities to participants during the Monday launch.
Mr Geo said that volley ball and soccer games were played.
Meanwhile, he said the communities were happy and appreciated Telekom for bringing breeze mobile network to their very fingertips.
He said that between 300 -500 people in and around East Fataleka attended the launching.
“People from Forau as far as Fa’asileta and communities around Fataleka came to witness the historic event.
“The communities are really happy because one of their long standing issues is now solved,” Mr Geo said.
Mobile phones, solar lights and other electronicgoods were sold during the day.
Meanwhile, Telekom’s 12th tower will be launched today at Gwailade, East Kwaio.
The Solomon Star understands that there are only two towers left to be launched out of the 14 towers.
These are at Upeni and Rota’a, Small Malaita.
