Suidani wants clarity on USAID SCALE Program
ORGANISATIONS responsible for implementing the USAID SCALE Program in Malaita Province must clearly define their roles and goals in the implementation of the program for the province.
Malaita Province premier, Daniel Suidani made this statement during a virtual meeting organised by one of the five USAID SCALE Program partners – Green Power Tech – on Wednesday this week.
In the meeting, Mr Suidani said his government is keen to work with the partners and knowing their aims and roles will allow the MARA Government to understand and work closely with the partners in a meaningful way.
Mr Suidani was then assured that these partners should present their aims and roles in the next virtual meeting scheduled for July.
The USAID SCALE Program implementing partners are; Nathan and Associates, Social Solutions International, Green Power Tech, Winrock International, and DAI.
The virtual meeting was organised with Mr Suidani and his advisor Celsus Talifilu who are still in Taipei, Taiwan. It was to give Mr Suidani and Malaita Province an overview of the program.
Stakeholders in Malaita Province were also part of the meeting. They include Malaita Provincial Government Heads of Division, representatives from chiefs, farmers, women, schools and non-government organisations.
Representatives from USAID and Green Power Tech also joined the meeting from Papua New Guinea, USA and other parts of the world.
Stakeholders who attended the virtual meeting said were happy to be part of the meeting as it enables them to ask questions and interact with the partners.
They said they look forward to the next meeting.
