The Temotu Football Association (TFA) has trimmed their training squad in preparation for the upcoming Solomon Cup set for June this year, Honiara.
TFA President Luke Lapoe told Star Sport from Lata,Temotu provincial capital that their training squad was trimmed to 28 players.
“We are now working on our final squad that will represent the Temotu in the Solomon Cup.
“After our series of trials the training squad was trimmed to 28 players now,’’ he said.
“From the 28 players, eight are non traveling players while only 20 will travel to Honiara to represent TFA for the Solomon Cup,’’ Lapoe said.
He said the final 20 players will be announced on the second week of May 2017.
“The final squad will be selected based on discipline and commitment towards their preparation.’’
Star Sports understands the team was coached by famous football star Philip Meouli and was assisted by another well know player, Joe Luwi as assistant coach.
Meanwhile the training squad comprises of two goal keepers, 11 defenders, 1o midfielders and five strikers.
The selected goal keepers are: Alban Mengo and Patteson Kiaa.
The Temotu Arrows defenders are: 1. Eddie Truman Pora, Ishmael Tolua, Richard Lyno, Ron Sopi, Danny, Eugene Neuwa, Mostyn Poke, Mark Manuobu, Casper Kulua, Elton Vebio and Albert Fafale.
Midfielders are: Trevor, Fox Pute, Walter Dapelebo, Wilson Nimepo, Martin Leuba, Robson Melapi, Jones Imbe, Thompson Pukulu, Lesly Nabosi and Albert Wao.
Strikers are: Allan Aubo, Jerry Kauri, Rolland Pweka, Michael Tambe and James Lapoe.
