TEMOTU premier Fr Brown Beu strongly calls on youths to refrain from drugs and stop acting like arrogant wild men in the province.
He made the call at his province’s second appointed day celebrations in Lata, Tuesday.
“The positive harnessing of the raw energy in our youth population is of great importance, so great an asset that must not be allowed to become liabilities,” he said.
“A lot of our youths, boys especially, are turning into mind/brain, body and organ deteriorating drugs.
“This makes me deeply sorry indeed. We must work together to contain this evil that is killing our young population.”
Fr Beu also condemned the “arrogant ways” of what they called in Temtou as “wild people” who have been accused of killing others using black magic.
“I strongly condemn the wild and arrogant boys in our communities. Repent and contribute positively to the spiritual and economic life of Temotu Province.
“We cannot continue to live in the past and expect development in the province.”
