WEIGHTLIFTING has kicked off Team Solomon’s medal tally with 10 medals in day one of their competition which started Tuesday at the Gym 3 Faleata, Apia.
The team snatched three gold medals, five bronze and two silver medals.
Mary Kini Lifu won the three gold medals in the women’s 55kg weight category in all three, snatch, clean and jerk and the overall points.
Elizabeth Bisafo won three bronze medals in the women’s 55kg weight category, Jaylyn Mala won one bronze and one silver in the women’s 49kg weight category and Walter Shadrack won one bronze and one silver in the men’s 55kg category.
Weightlifting is not yet done as they eye to win more medals in the second day of competition today.
