SOLOMON Islands young female tennis player is part of the Oceania team that will participate in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) championship in Morocco.
She is 15-year-old Zorika Morgan, one of Solomon Islands’ young tennis players studying and playing tennis at the Pacific Tennis Institute in Fiji.
Morika has a ranking in Oceania and following a series of competitions held last year, she was selected to be part of the Pacific team.
Zorika’s mother and one of the country’s female tennis coaches Doreen Ningalo said attending the ITF competition will help Zorika in her ranking.
“Attending the ITF competition will help her in her ranking.
“She is determined to do her best and at the same time represent the Solomon Islands in the competition,” she said.
Zorika teams up with a female player from Fiji and a boy from Vanuatu.
She has made impressive progress in her tennis career starting with a ranking of 2000 and now 1022 following her many attendances in ITF tournaments both in Fiji and regionally.
