SOLOMON Islands Tennis Association (SITA) has wrapped up their 2021 programs on Sunday.
This year’s programs’ wrap up was marked with the presentation of awards for the winners of the doubles tournament.
In the B Grade knockout competition, Free Stars finished top, Champions on second place and Dragons finished third.
The A Grade knockout winners are Palm Sugar for the top prize award second place winners Top Spinners and Supreme for the third prize award.
Palm Sugar also won the league competition followed by Hooligans on second and Top Spinners on third.
Ten teams took part in the 10 weeks competition.
SITA president John Parsad thanked all participants, families and sponsors for making it a successful event.
“Thank you all participants, coaches, tournament coordinator Collin Leong for organizing the competition and sponsors for making this tournament a success.
“Ten weeks is quite long and it was a bit tough but I think everyone enjoyed it,” he said.
SITA has been busy throughout the year organizing competitions and development programs for its athletes.
This is all part of the federation’s preparation for the Pacific Games 2023 as well as the future for tennis in the country.
