The Malaita Eagle soccer team is full of confidence ahead of the upcoming Solomon Games soccer tournament that will be held in Honiara starting this weekend.
The Eagle soccer team who always proven competition in the past tournaments arrived in the national capital yesterday afternoon full of confidence.
Speaking to Star Sports in Auki prior to their departure to Honiara yesterday morning, Eagles team manager Levi Filuala said their aim is to get to the grand final.
“Our main aim is to get to the grand final, I know it will be tough for us but with the players that we have now we are confident that we can reach the grand final,” Filuala said.
With the raw talented athletes they have in their team, together with the wealth of experience in their coaching staff he said the only team to deny them would be Honiara given the high level of soccer development and exposure in the national capital in comparison with the provincial teams.
The Eagles left Malaita yesterday morning with a total of 26 athletes where three of them are non-travellers and four officials, a total of 30 all together.
