DEAR EDITOR – Thank you for this blessed opportunity which I would like to use to releash some fresh thoughts regarding the Death and Resurrection of Christ for all of us and the beloved people of Solomon Islands.
The Death and Resurrection of Christ is the foundation of all Christianity. If Christ did not rise from the grave then our believe and preaching is empty and nothing.
Isn’t this revealing some of our preaching today due to a lack of experiencing Christ’s resurrected power?
Christ came to earth to die so that sinful man (yes, man is a sinner) may be released from eternal death which is in front of all humanity.
We have to see that Christ’s death was also the death of our sinful self. Self was crucified on the cross (or tree for some). It was buried in the grave that it may be rendered powerless.
Early Sunday morning what happened? Lo and behold, Christ rose again with a new creature!
A true believer in Christ was resurrected. ‘Therefore, if any man be in Christ Jesus, he is a new creature (person). Old things (old sinful, unrighteous life) have passed away, behold all things have become NEW’!”
Man, what a statement to make. All believers who were crucified, buried and resurrected with Christ Jesus are new people in Him. You see that truth. It will help you.
Believe it and experience Christ’s power!
The difficulty which most of us have is that, we often come to Easter and treat it as a kind of shadow only.
It becomes a symbol only of Christ’s death. We often look to the past instead of looking to Christ who is now seated at God’s right hand.
We approach it as the ‘brazen serpent of Moses’ in the wilderness. That is what we often do yearly.
Most of us do not truly experience the Resurrection of Christ Jesus in our lives. Perhaps, this could be one reason why we have been celebrating the death of Christ with very little change and transformation in our lives.
There is still a lot of unrighteousness being seen everywhere. Lives are not truly transformed. Our country is renown for corruption and many other evils. What is wrong?
Christ is now alive forevermore and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
The body of Christ is now also seated with Him in the heavenlies. This is the position of authority.
This is the position of life, victory and anointing. On the day of Pentecost, Christ Jesus poured the Holy Spirit to anoint the 120 followers in the Upper room.
There was a mighty rushing wind with Holy Ghost fire and they all spoke out declaring the word of the LORD with great power and authority.
Those early apostles and followers set an example for the end time church. Didn’t they? They truly experienced the message of Easter in their lives. Praise the LORD!
What about our denominations today? Those early followers preached the gospel of the Kingdom of God with great power and authority because the Jesus Christ they believedin was not a ‘shadow or picture only’ but the Sovereign Lord of the universe.
Christ very much a Real Person to them. He was not a theory or an idea only. He is LIFE!
May the Christians of Solomon Islands learn to truly experience the resurrected power of Christ Jesus this year in their lives, homes, communities and provinces.
