Dear Editor – It’s good to see the underpass next to the Hyundai Mall now back in operation again, which makes it easy for some of those who are unable to cross the roads to go underground.
I had the opportunity to walk through the underpass this week and see a HCC law enforcement officer being posted at one end of the tunnel to look after the tunnel to make sure there are no people throwing rubbish and litter the underpass. It’s a good initiative.
I note that each day a security officer is posted there. Walking through the underpass, I realise it has enough space.
So my suggestion is that why not the city council allows some of the street vendors who are selling things like mobile phones or crafts to be stationed there as well to sell while looking after the place.
In that it can also help to maintain place all day and support the officers.
And if that does happen then please ensure there is air condition or fan because I note it’s too humid.
Just a suggestion for future planning by the city council
But thanks for the service anyway.
