THE organisers of this year’s Solomon Islands Schools Choral Festival have released the theme for this year’s School’s Choral Festival.
The theme designed by members of the Solomon Voices Choir, is ‘THE POWER IN MUSIC’.
According to a statement from organisers, the theme acknowledges the positive transformation that is happening in the Solomon Islands through the vehicle of music.
“This year’s festival that is organised by Solomon Voices Choir in collaboration with MANAHENA EVENTS, will feature songs that describe the generation we currently live in,” the statement said.
“The theme of the event has strongly shaped the repertoire, and for the first time, the Choral Festival will see students and young people conduct the Student Mass Choir alongside renowned Oceania Choral Conductors,” it added.
The Choral Festival will be staged on the 3rd to the 5th July 2018 and will feature a 300 strong youth choir focused on having a discussion with the nation.
The venue for the event is yet to be confirmed, but as has been the case, the choral festival shows have always been sold out performances.
For parents who want their children to participate in the upcoming Choral Festival, please send your children down to Chung-Wah School, where rehearsals happen throughout the week from 2pm to 4pm.
