WESTERN Provincial Government (WPG) plans to build three new hotels in the Province.
Provincial Secretary (PS) for Western Provincial Government Adrian Tony highlighted this during the Council of Tourism Ministers Meeting (CTMM) held at the Heritage Park Hotel, Wednesday.
Mr Tony said, Western provincial government’s plan is to build the hotels to boost tourism arrivals in the province.
“We have long term plans for tourism development in the Western province which is basically to boosts visitors’ arrival within the province.
“And one of our plans which is the current provincial government is to make sure these hotels must be built in the province,” Mr Tony said.
He said, already the province had identified the three potential sites for the hotels to be built.
“We have identified three potentials sites areas for these hotels to be built within the province.
“They are Gizo, Munda and Seghe. These places are potential tourism sites in the province and the current provincial gov’t plans to build this hotels to ensure visitors’ arrival in Western province is high,” Mr Tony said.
He thanked the Ministry (MCT) for organising the council of Tourism Ministers Meeting which should help each province to share and understand its tourism development plans.
