DEAR EDITOR – Renbel Province is amongst the least developed provinces in the country.
However, least educated members dominating the assembly had made the situation even worse as most colleagues believe.
Besides lacking of knowledge and proper understanding on regulations and procedures, they corrupted and diverted most public funds include the PCDF projects, yet always pretend and acted innocent.
However, the sad part was they corrupted and diverted all these funds, yet the entire innocent community have to pay the price and faced the consequences of those ignorant and irresponsible opportunists.
PCDF under the PGSP program had revealed Renbel with other two provinces were dumped out and denied this million dollar project this year.
From there I tend to ask, then who was responsible? Our kids, no! Our kids they don’t even know what this PCDF funds is.
If this is serious then we cannot just let this chance down the drain without challenging those who held accountable.
In other words, the diversion and misappropriation of this fund must be seriously investigated and allow justice to take it course, after all no one is above the law.
Editor, honestly, your report on the issue was a bit disturbing, and I really want if you could help to establish this fact, who is responsible and what does our constitution has to say about this kind of situation?
I don’t think you need to attend tertiary level or train as a lawyer to figure out this fuss, why these individuals MPA had misused, corrupted, diverted and theft all these public funds, yet my poor little girl has to pay for those robbery?
I challenge the Project manager to take some serious thought and some time out and visit Rennell and Bellona.
You will be surprised how many projects being funded for these two islands have never been materialised even up until today and who is held responsible, poor kids?
If you still have problem in identifying those flying foxes then even little kids back in the rural village can still help you.
Our right have been deprived and it is not fair. One man robbed and diverted funds, yet penalize the whole community.
For this reason, I recommend that the PS MPG or PCDF program should challenge these culprits/opportunists, otherwise if that is not serious then simply forget your criteria and put back Renbel into the PCDF program.
