PEOPLE of Tikopia and Anuta Islands in the Temotu province are demanding an explanation from their outgoing Member of Parliament (MP) Clay Forau over how he had used the shipping grant.
Benariki Putanakipenua,26, from Tikopia who claimed to be speaking on behalf of the constituents said, people in the constituency wants some explanation from the MP.
“We the people of Tikopia and Anuta Islands want Mr Forauto explain to us how he had used the shipping grant given by the government.
“We want an explanation from him (MP) before the national general election,” he said.
Mr Putanakipenua said most of the people in these two islands are fully aware of this specific fund.
He claimed most of the people have valid documents about this shipping grant, so the MP should come clear to explain it.
Attempts to get Mr Forau over the past days for comments were unsuccessful.
