Willing to meet with Malaita Premier
THE Solomon Islands Post Rehabilitation, Reintegration Association (SIPCRAA) with former Malaitan hardline leader Moses Su’u cemented their relationship with the Sogavare led Government yesterday.
A meeting which was attended by their members and some of their very influential leaders was held at Gilbert Camp.
The group yesterday confirmed that they distance themselves from the armed groups who want to take down the Sogavare government.
Moses Su’u addressed their members and briefed them about his meeting with the Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare yesterday morning.
It was a reconciliation initiated by Su’u and his members with the help of the SIPCRAA Chairman Solomon Sisimia which was supported by their members who turned up at the meeting.
“I met with Sogavare mainly to reconcile with him carrying with me the heart of all the members sitting here.
“It was a small but a moving ceremony it was done in good faith with the heart to see that this nation does not go back to its dark days.
“And all the members who are sitting here right now can agree with me that gone a days that we continue to use force to bring our agendas.
“We believe that only if we walk together with our national government and our provincial government we can see the change we want not only for Malaita but the country as whole,” Su’u said.
During their meeting it was also revealed that the SIPCRAA and Mr Su’u want to hold dialogue with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Solomon Islands when time allows.
“Yes, I did mention this idea to Sogavare after the reconciliation because we believe that through proper dialogue and understanding we can move our development aspirations.
“We must not allow only few people keep on blocking our development aspiration, but work together to see that our future is secured for our children,” he added.
Other leaders and members attending the meeting also supported the idea.
It was also confirmed that SIPCRAA and Su’u are planning to visit the Premier when he returns from overseas.
“We want to sit down as Malaitan brothers and leaders to talk about the development aspiration of our people.
“We want to find solution, and ways to move Malaita forward,” Su’u said.
Su’u and all the members of the group with SIPCRAA members support the government and want to see that Solomon Islands must move on from the past.
“Working together is our aim,” he added.
