The involvement of a young Solomon Islander in the West Tanna TVL championship league in Vanuatu has become a boost to Vanuatu’s provincial level of football.
That was according to the Anthony Kalia, the secretary General for Tafea football association office in Tanna, Vanuatu
Toata was in the Tafea province for work as a contracted clinical nurse in one of the main hospitals in Tanna- Lenakel hospital and has engaged a lot of football in the Tafea province especially in major provincial national super league tournaments.
Kalia said he was proud to see and witness one of the Solomon island football players playing here in West Tanna TVL championship league since 2012 until now.
Tafea province style of football became more competitive now because of the influences of the style of football from Toata.
Toata’s performance in the club has boosted other clubs management to contract international players from other countries as well.
For the past years, Toata signed up for a football contract with Highlands FC.
Highlands FC is one of the former Tafea province representative football clubs to participate in national super league in Port Villa.
For the past two years his performance led the club to participate in Vanuatu’s NSL for the second time.
Kalia said it has not been practice before for international player like Toata to come down in the provincial level to play in provincial football.
He added it marks a history that at one time Solomon Island player has played football in the Vanuatu provincial level.
Usually Solomon Island football players and players from other parts of the world have come over to Vanuatu to play football especially in Port Villa league rather than in the provincial level.
He has been influencing the provincial football style in Tafea province through his involvement to other football clubs in providing and teaching the players of basic simple football.
Toata has also contributed a lot in running academic football to young football players in Tanna.
A brief look at his background showed that he became part of the Uncles football club Team now known as the Solomon Warriors FC before moving over to Vanuatu.
At the meantime Toata is preparing for the upcoming 2014-2015 TVL championship for national super league.
