The Minister for the Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) says it is under the leadership of the Prime Minister (PM) Manasseh Sogavare that the country is still Covid-19 free.
Dr Culwick Togamana highlighted this during the Motion of no confidence by Leader of Opposition against the Prime Minister who defeated the Motion on Monday.
The Minister said with the tremendous and commendable effort by the Democratic Coalition Government for Advancement (DCGA), through the leadership of the Honorable Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare the country is Covid-19 free to this day.
He explained Sogavare’s leadership has enabled the DCGA government to allocate much needed resources that assisted by the country’s development partners.
“Through this has enable the Ministry of Health and Medical Services to set in motion to standard operating procedures governing general public hygiene and quarantine processes to ensure Covid-19 virus does not spread to communities if it crosses our borders,” Dr Togamana said.
He added through the financial support by DCGA under the leadership of PM to his ministry with resources enables them to prepare and response to the current Covid-19 pandemic.
Therefore, Dr Togamana stated the success of the ministry’s preparedness and response to the current Covid-19 pandemic reflects the quality of leadership of the Prime Minister and so he has the confidence in the leadership of the PM.
