THE Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) has filled three very important positions in their office this week.
SIFF formally appointed Leonard Paia as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Eddie Rukumana as its new Youth Development Officer (YDO) and Robert Sulimae as a new Referee Development Officer (RDO).
SIFF Media Officer Simon Abana said the three successful candidates were officially appointed on Monday this week.
Speaking to the local media yesterday the new CEO expressed his excitement adding his new position will help to drive his passion in football to grow stronger.
“What motivated me to apply for this post is my interest in football,” the new CEO said.
“My interest is in football development in the country.
“In fact I’ve involved in club level as well as in Honiara Football Association for quite awhile now,” he said.
Paia expressed what really inspired him for his new job is the close connection between the CEO position and SIFF executive’s level were decisions and directions are usually made.
“I see the CEO position as much closer to the SIFF Executive were they can make important decisions in our football.
“So personally what I am thinking of is, if I am going into that position I will have the opportunity to contribute towards decisions making and implementations of SIFF executive’s decisions for football development in the country,’’ he added.
Meanwhile, Sulimae and Rukumana also shared similar sentiments adding they are prepared to take on their new jobs despite whatever challenges they will encounter in the course of the duties.
