Naka maintains golden boot race
The race for the golden boot title gets tough as Telekom S-league nears the end of the season.
Western United FC’s striker, James Naka maintains the lead with 19 goals scored from 14 matches played.
He is closely chased by Solomon Warriors FC Dennis Ifunaoa with 15 goals, Atkin Kaua of Marist FC with 10 goals, team mate Moffat Kilifa with nine goals and Harrison Mala with goals.
Some of the country’s renowned players, the likes of KOSSA striker George Suri, Marist’s Joachim Kairi, Abraham Iniga, Paul Hiri of Kakamora FC and Karol Kakate of Solomon Warriors are also in the top ten goal scorers list.
Naka looks good to take this season’s golden boot award if he continues to maintain the lead by extending his tally United’s two remaining matches.
However the chances of finishing this season with the highest of goals remains wide open as each club still has around two to three matches left to play before the season ends which will give players a chance of extending their number of goals.
