The 2014 tourism council meeting is set down for the 24-25 of this month in Honiara to look at the resolution that had been reached at last week’s tourism forum.
This was highlighted by the director of tourism and chair of the 2014 Our Telekom national tourism forum Barney Sivoro last Friday.
Mr Sivoro said the forum will bring together all provincial tourism ministers together in Honiara for the council meeting.
“The tourism council meeting (TCM) will be held this month 24-25 in Honiara where good numbers of provincial tourism ministers will attend.”
An organising committee had been established to administer the meeting.
During the meeting the resolution from last week’s tourism forum will be presented to the tourism council for deliberation.
It is expected that all provincial government’s minister responsible for tourism will attend the two days meeting.
The meeting will be chaired by the minister for culture and tourism Hon Samuel Manetoali.
“During the meeting, they will endorse the resolution so that the chair of can present it to Cabinet for final approval,” Mr Sivoro said.
Meanwhile Mr Sivoro said the meeting will be vital for the tourism industry since operators need immediate improvement and support.
