Tourism Solomons has officially signed on as the Silver Sponsor of the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant (MPIP) 2025.
Signing up as a sponsor reaffirms their commitment to celebrating culture and tourism in the Solomon Islands.
As a sponsor, Tourism Solomons will proudly support three key components of the event:
- the Chupu Ceremony;
- the People’s Choice Awards, and;
- the highly anticipated Miss Tourism Award.
The signing ceremony was held this afternoon at the Tourism Solomons office in Honiara marked a significant milestone in the lead-up to the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant 2025.
Both the Pageant Director, Ms. Joyce Konofilia, and the Acting CEO of Tourism Solomons, Mr. Dagnal Dereveke, were present to officially sign the agreement.
“We are thrilled to have Tourism Solomons as a key partner for this year’s pageant,” said Ms. Konofilia.
“Their sponsorship not only reflects their dedication to promoting our culture and traditions but also
highlights the importance of showcasing the Solomon Islands as a vibrant and diverse destination.
Tourism Solomons will have a great opportunity to promote our tourism brand Solomon Island through the Our People’s Choice Award, being the official sponsor of that category.
“I am proud of this partnership as it will take our Tourism brand to a new level”.

The Chupu Ceremony, set to take place on February 3rd at the main Dining Hall in East Honiara, is a cultural highlight of the pageant.
It is a traditional gesture of respect to acknowledge the landowners for the use of their land, and to warmly welcome the contesting queens and their delegations from across the Pacific to the Solomon Islands for the event.
The ceremony not only honors the customs but also gives the contestants and their delegations an opportunity to experience the beauty of Solomon Islands customs.
Everyone is warmly invited to attend this free event and celebrate this special cultural occasion. The program starts at 2:30pm, and the public is encouraged to attend and be part of this meaningful experience.
The Miss Pacific Islands Pageant 2025 will be held in Honiara from February 1st to February 8th, under the theme “Leadership in Diversity and Adversity.”
With the support and partnership of Tourism Solomons, this year’s event is set to showcase and celebrate the Pacific’s rich heritage, talent, and resilience.
