SIX months has passed but American tourist David Grahl says he still thinks of the good times he spent in the Solomon Islands presenting gifts.
One of his activities during his trips throughout the South Pacific was the donation of books to children in various communities that he visited since the beginning of his Pacific adventure.
In a recent contact with Mr Grahl, he decided to share his book ‘donation adventure’ in Malaita, where he donated some school stationeries to students from a primary school that he stopped at during his hike in Malaita.
“When I travel the South Pacific, I bring with me coloring books and crayons to give to the children in the villages I visited,” he said.
“While I was in the Solomon Islands, I gave some of the books and crayons to children at a school in Malaita.
“It makes me happy to see the smiles on the faces of the children,” he recalled.
Mr Grahl told the Solomon Star that he also gave some coloring books and crayons to children at Kukudu Adventist Primary School on Kolombangara, in the Western Province.
He said that, such donations also make him feel good that I could bring some joy and happiness to the wonderful children on the islands.
