LEADING Solomon islands insurance company, TOWER Insurance donated a much needed water tank to Selwyn College.
The Anglican Church run secondary high school is situated on the outskirts of Honiara, about an
hour’s drive along the western Highway.
The school has contributed to producing many prominent and outstanding Solomon Islanders.
TOWER Insurance was approached by the Parents, Teachers and Former Students Association of the school, to assist the school deal with their water sanitation problem.
The ablution blocks within the school dormitories has recently become unhygienic through bore water contamination connection.
The bore water currently being used becomes extremely unhygienic during heavy rainfall, like experienced in recent days.
Students have been complaining of stomach ailments and diarrhoea as a result.
TOWER Insurance came to the rescue by purchasing a large rain water tank.
The tank will be installed to allow the students to have a cleaner rainwater source.
Melina Pitamama of TOWER Insurance handed over the new water tank to Selwyn College Principal, Fox Qwaina and in the company of Parents, Teachers and Ex Students Association representative Trevor Manemahaga.
In response, Mr Qwaina expressed his deep appreciation for the kind gesture shown by TOWER
Insurance in assisting the school in its time of need.
